Superman: Legacy

I’m a huge fan of the Reeve films. While I don’t expect a film like that, I get the need to appeal to a modern audience… I do hope we get something hopeful, a character who is positive and a story that is emotional and fun. I don’t think that’s too much to ask for.

superman is almost 90 years old. He is still the first thing you think about when you say Super Hero. How many people alive can remember a time when there was no superman.

All I hope is that JG gives it an honest effort to be good and if it fails at least it is an honest failure, but if it wins it will be all that much better.

We haven’t had a decent Superman movie since Returns. That was not a great movie by any means, but it was better than what followed.

Take me back to the optimistic Superman who wants to help. Not the brooding, gritty, ‘real world’ junk we’ve had.

Cavell was great as Superman, he just had lousy scripts.

I rarely get an emotional reaction to watching tv or movies. Last time it was when the Enterprise D powered up for the last time in Picard. The time before that it was Top Gun Maverick when he lands on the carrier. And now. Damn it, wasnt expecting THAT to happen! Good thing I watched it alone. This could be good, very good. I think it’s the music cues. Every time it’s when a classic theme kicks in, and I’m gone.
