The Definitive Peter Quill/Star-Lord Costume Thread

My manikin. I'm going to be able to create my cosplay on a body double. This is going to come in handy. Especially when I need to attach the gun clips.

...the most accurate Star-Lord helmet, the EFX is it. ...
Well, almost. ;)

The EFX is the official replica after all, so it'd be crazy if it weren't accurate, but I remember having a couple teeny-tiny issues with it compared to the last model I did (also based on 'real' ref) so I never got one. It's been so long now, but I think it was likely due to the mass-manufacturing of it that caused a couple quirks.

Has anyone identified what Peter is listening to here? It’s a different earphone than the Zune in Vol.2. And it looks like a Zune with a casing. Any clues would definitely be appreciated!

It looks like the same zune in a plastic case like this one, or similar

I've held onto a Big Effects Props Star-Lord jacket for years. It's always been a tad to small for me. It is the highest quality Star-Lord jacket you can buy. I'll never fit it right. Its sad. It's a rare one of a kind jacket. What do you think about this gem? I barely wore it. I didn't know what to do with it. Should I keep a jacket I'll probably never wear?

Let me know if you ever feel the same way about your volume 1 jacket.

I don't think it's the highest quality one available though: Rick Legendary showed off a pretty damn cool one that looked a bit more sleek in my eye:

Rick has the real leather screen printed stretch fabric from whitesheepleather.com Im going to order one myself. I've had a lot of bad luck when it comes to ordering jackets and having them get the size wrong. I need to reach out to Rick and find out how he submitted his measurements because his jacket fits perfect

He is on youtube or here, you could message him.

I tried emailing whitesheepleather about something and then they just flat out ignored me after a time, so yeah, beats me.

Yeah, I have no idea what happened. They were open to crafting a whole new volume 1 jacket (they have done vol 2 like 10 times and there's only one very early and outdated vol 1 from them), and they seemed receptive at first, and then flat out just ghosted me thereafter. Even when nudged. No clue what happened.

Are you sure you don't want to sell that volume 1 jacket you have? Damn, I love it.

Magnoli Clothiers has an unmatched vol 1 jacket!

I know, we talked about this before. I bought one currently but Magnoli doesn't make his jackets the same way as when he made yours, and so I'm waiting (quite a long time) with a whole ton of new instructions to buy another one; it is thankfully very customizable), but I love the older style he used when he made yours.

So to save me the trouble of going through all that again, if you really don't need it anymore, I'll make you a generous offer. Let me know!

I understand this is a precariously noobish thing to post and ask, but I'm currently working on a printed Star Lord helmet build and wanted to know if anyone had a line on a lighting kit for the eyes.

From research, it appears CorSec Props and TheRocketeer on here used to offer kits, with both having faded into internet oblivion.

Any insight or direction is appreciated, or even a tutorial pointer, as I've not tried working with LEDs before.

Cheers!

Spenny.
