Originally, Steve (S.D. Sdtudios) made a replica of the Terminator .45 Longslide using one of the Collector’s Armoury / Replica Models Inc. ABS replica blowback 1911 Semi-Automatic pistols right after the film came out.
A good friend of mine (Jimi Black who founded Factory-X...that;s him in the photo) comissioned Steve to make him a replica as well (the one in the photos)
I originally met Jimi through a mutual friend who told me that Jimi had a replica of the Terminator Longslide (which at the time was unheard of someone having such a replica)
Through Jimi, I met Steve and, of course, had him make one for me.
So, Steve still has the first one, This is the second one and I own the third of only 3 ever made by SD Studios.
The pistol has a removable metal magazine and comes with one .45 replica cartridge which is of the Blowback variety. I’m NOT saying the gun is still capable of firing the blowback shell as I don’t know what internal convertions Steve made to it. Regardless, the shell itself isn’t capable of firing without the cap that fits inside the cartridge.
Inserting the magazine with the cartridge allows you to draw back the slide which, in turn, loads the cartridge into the chamber when released. Drawing the slide back again will eject the shell and automatically lock the slide in the rearward position. Pushing down on the slide lock lever will allow the slide to return to the original position.
