I photoshopped two more scenes from Final Fantasy 6 to look more realistic.

Heres Doma Castle, after Kefka has poisoned the river. If on a phone, you'll have to zoom to see Cyan and the guard up on top.

Then we have the part where Celes is leaving the Solitary island, keeping Cid alive here. They are also a bit tiny.

Eiyuden Chronicle Rising finally beaten. Game guides said it would take about 20 hours and they were right on the money. Beat it in 20 hours and completed all 160 town quests. Now I can finally start Eiyuden Chronicle 100 Heroes with that out of the way.
Also just picked up Front Mission 2 remaster and a "one hit" fighting game that seems to have been inspired by the old Bushido Blade on PS called Sclash. Only $10 but has been pretty entertaining for quick frenetic matches.

Also Akuma finally revealed for a May 22 release in Street Fighter. Haven't picked up the game yet because I was waiting for Akuma so I may get it now. Especially since his classic look it also one of his outfits instead of Old Man Gouki.

Made another realistic pic from Final Fantasy 6, but this one I ended up mostly created it all from scratched in photoshop. Some things, like the windows, door, flowers, trees, stairs, roof, are all google searches...but still heavily edited. The ground, and building texture was made entirely in photoshop.
This one actually took probably like 12 to 15 hours. Getting a lot of views in a Final Fantasy 6 group.

And how it looks in the game. (without characters)

I also want to do the World of Ruin version where its getting hit by Kefka's Light of Judgement.

That only took like 5 hours. I took some liberties, in that Sabin technically wouldn't already be holding the house when Kefka's Light of Judgement hit, but, its to perfect to not mimic like that. I also didn't really have a place for Celes, so the bottom walking in was the best spot, but shes too small....but any bigger and it just looked weird. Since the game doesn't show the actual beam hitting the house, only flashes on screen, I thought it would look cool to show it, and then really play with the lighting best I could.

System Shock Remaster finally launched just now on console. I just bought it. This was another of those 90's games I kept hearing people talk about but never got to play as I was still a Mac user at this point in time and missed out on a lot of these early PC classics. Never played it before but now I get to try it.

Awesome. Seeing this, before watching, was hoping it would have all the over the top extreme dunks and narrator voicing it all.
Hopefully it will have all the wacky codes, like big heads, celebrities, and so on.

Was trying an automated battle on the final boss of Final Fantasy 6. Characters that already auto battle, Umaro, or Mog, who's dance makes him then auto battle, Gau, who's rages do the same. And Gogo, who can pick any of them.
Kept losing, so I'd tey again. Some got father than other runs, but never did win.
So heres everything playing all at once for some fun Dancing Mad overdrive.
Even the full screen is live, plus the song playing in the background off winamp.

I went back and started playing Marvel's Midnight Suns again recently after putting it aside for a bit. I have to say, although it has a slow start, it's actually a ton of fun once you get into it.

The combat system is...weird. Definitely takes some getting used to, and I suspect when people saw 2K was making a turn-based marvel game, they instantly thought "Oh, XCOM with X-Men, I get it," and then it...uh...wasn't that at all. But like I said, when you actually get into it and start playing, it's a blast. The characters are also well realized and especially well voiced.

Yuri Lowenthal reprises his iconic take on Spider-Man for this (although there's no connection with the Sony games). Steve Blum does a great Wolverine, as he has for a ton of other games. The rest of the cast is solid, too. Your character (a new character) can be voiced by Matt Mercer if you choose (although I went with the female voice instead). Overall, a solid game that I recommend IF you can get past the weirdness of the combat system.

Once you get into it, it's pretty strategic, nuanced, and kind of puzzle-oriented, but also action-packed.

I guess George Miller didn't like the Mad Max video game. Probably because it had too much Mad Max in it. He also thinks Kojima would make a great Mad Max game which makes sense if you've never played one of his video games or any other video games for that matter.

It doesnt say that in the article though. Miller says they gave alot of material to the company to make a good game but “It wasn’t as good as I wanted it to be.”

To be honest, he is kind of right. Ive platted Mad Max on PS4 and its really an ok open world game. Its quite barren even compared to Fury road which has some big towns and some green areas which we see in the movie. The collect all scrap mechanic was tedious, the combat system was just Arkham combat with a rage metric and was pretty mediocre to be honest. The car combat was kind of interesting but it was quite limited to what you could have on the car vs something like Twisted Metal.

Kojima would likely do a far better combat mechanics as shown with MGSV although vehicle combat should be done by someone else. I think another AA studio could do a great job with the IP though (not AAA or it will just be a mess of MTX and too much content at the expense of a good story and mechanics).

I got the impression he didn't like it but you're right. He didn't actually say that. That's fair.

I don't know if Twisted Metal would work as the combat is extra wild. A Hideo Mad Max? I just envision long scenes of eggs frying and Max lamenting how apocalypsing has changed lol.

I agree he didnt like the game but just that reason for it was different. I know there are directors and authors who look down on video games as not art (like GRRM) and Miller doesnt seem to be like that. He seems to see video games as legitimate art so likely would have been happy with a Mad Max game if done well which is probably why he cited Kojima as someone he wants to work with. Miller seemed to have wanted the game to be more vibrant with different towns and different clans given he mentions giving alot of material so in that regard, the final product is pretty lacking in that regard. Its a serviceable game but do think its overrated when compared to Days Gone (for the Walking Dead experience) or Red Dead Redemption.

I think it depends on how Kojima goes about it but I do think he has toned down the excessive cinematics. As Kojima productions, he also doesnt have the budget to go as ham as he did on MGS4. He would also likely want to collaborate with Miller so may not go crazy in the process. But even if not Kojima, I think if given some direction but also some freedom to be creative and trading ideas with Miller could have resulted in a more interesting game that Miller would have approved as well. Ofcourse, I do think other devs would do a great job with Miller to possibly bring his vision to life too and agree Kojima may not necessarily be the best. He would likely make a good Max for melee combat but not too sure about the vehicle combat sections.

Im not saying Mad Max needed to have the weapons of Twisted Metal but needed more variety and customization. The magnum opus innately gets spikes, sniper, harpoon, and the thunderpoon (and to be honest, only the thunderpoon as a good offensive weapon while driving combined with Max shooting his shotgun). I think being able to add or remove weapons, a greater variety so the player can choose to fight going close up to enemies or far away and snipe would have made the game more engaging. Maybe they wanted to be true to the weapons shown in Mad Max films but bouncing ideas with Miller on possible new weapons would have resulted in a more fun game imo.
