Thermal those models are amazing. thanks for sharing

do you have many more pictures?

I'd love to see

that concept tricorder would look beautiful with lights and a handscanner in the compartment! I love it so much

Not seen on screen or any show.

It has been assumed by some fans to have been the red emergency tricorder seen in the medical bay, but that's just a guess.

"TR-580 Medical Tricorder Mark VIII (assumed) was a RED Tricorder mounted at each Biobed in Sickbay aboard Voyager, and is therefore assumed to be a Medical variant, probably used in conjunction with the Biobeds for emergency diagnostics. It was replaced in later seasons by a PADD."

Okay, thats help.

I ever looked and was confused, because sometimes I read their is a mk VIII and then I see only VI and VII and then IX.

Thanks for this.

Hi everyone,

im a huge TNG fan and the tricorder has been one of my favorite props/devices since i was a kid. I love the tricroder they based the playmates toy from, the science one, im not sure which model it is.

but my all time favorite is my real tricorder, made by Vital tech in 95, i still use it at least once a week for simple things. it has all the lights and sensors and I just love that I can tell people im using a tricorder. wish there were other models.

What does the "real" one do? I was never able to figure that out. It kinda bugs me that there aren't more "sensor" attachments for iPad / iPhone.

I remember entering a competition in Star Trek Monthly to win one of those and thinking how cool it would have been to use it in Science class at school.
Given how much better/smaller sensor, battery and small-screen tech has become since then, I'm surprised there's never been another model of this.

its really good to use

it has a temperature sensor, colorometer, barometric pressure gauge, emf reader, light meter and the standard time and date settings. for the time it was made i would think it would be pretty nifty science tool, the lights they use are bright and the start up sounds are from the tricorder on the show.

it would be really cool if they could make one that would fold up like the originals. I've thought about maybe buying a 2nd and trying to make it fold, the board inside is pretty basic on the lower portion, but it would be a task.
