Tombstone Val Kilmer / Doc Holliday Costume

They are historically accurate, and we have the patterns for them. We also have the fabric for the bib........................ Yes, I lead a very lonely life.........
Yes, absolutely accurate! I know that, for the "young" generation, seeing a man's shirt being buttoned at the back seems strange...but the owner was buttoning the shirt before passing it over his head and securing the last button at the collar. Not very practical, but with a bib designed like this, you had no choice;)

ALWAYS CHECK YOUR PHOTOS AT THE PHOTO SHOOT
1f609.png

When I did the photo shoot with our Doc Holliday duster it was hotter than a $2 dollar pistol that day. Well, wearing all the wardrobe didn’t make things any cooler, so I was kind of in a rush to get done so I could get back into the air conditioning and I didn’t check any of the photos.
This shot was supposed to be one of Val’s/Doc’s famous poses, but unfortunately my eyes were closed during the shot

This shoot will be redone in the future as next time I will be wearing ALL the proper wardrobe

I'm working on a Johnny Ringo Hat that I will be selling (because I don't have enough stuff on my plate). This is just the beginning of the shaping process and pay no attention to the hat band as I have the same hat band that was used in the movie for the hat, along with the same stampede string. More photos will be coming here in the near future as the hat comes together. :)

Another awesome project. I am guessing each one sold will get the hand and steam shaping like this one?
This is basically a one and done hat as I am using a vintage 1960's cowboy hat and just reshaping it and adding all the correct bands and such. I have only found one correct hat band to match what the movie used (as no one uses the correct hat band on their hats), so making multiple Ringo hats is going to be out of the question.

Hey Guys,

So again, this post isn't about Doc, but at least this time I am staying in the correct movie........................

I just wanted to share a couple of photos of the rig my good buddy Edward over at EJ Leather Works made. You Tombstone fans will recognize this rig being the one that Kurt Russell aka Wyatt Earp wore in the movie. The rig was made from the original patterns the movie used (yes, we have some connections). Now in the photos below you will notice only one belt with two holsters on it, and in the movie, Wyatt wears two separate gun belts. The reason for just the one belt is my buddy's arms were killing him as he just made five rigs, and he didn't have the energy to make another belt. Also, the guns in the photos are the wrong guns as he didn't have the Buntline pistol. He also put the holsters on the wrong side, but don't worry as I am going to beat him later for this mistake......................... ;)

Anyways, I just thought you boys would like to see this

Ok, an oddity from Guns and Gear book...Wyatt rig showing left hand Buntline holster ! Claims to be the movie one but Wyatt never used a lefty in TombStone...the other Teddy Blue pattern is correct Mexican double loop for some scenes, my 2 loop is a lefty as Greenmachines has its twin ! Can't account for the Buntline, and the photo is not backwards ! Morgan rig from the book shows a lefty also ?

There are a LOT of things that are not right in that book

We have the original photos from the holster maker that shows the true color of the rig. We got these photos when we got the original holster patterns. Wyatt’s rig is a dark brown, or at least this is the color I call it, but my leather guy may have a different name for it :D
