I own Harmy's Despecialized editions of the OT on Blu Ray. Would it be worth it still to pick up 4K77 and the Silver screen edition? I have not seen those versions.

My projector Is technically not even true 1080P but i always DL 1080P and crop just a little of the sides away so what I'm seeing is the right scale again if you get me. It is still much clearer and than my normal seat at the cinema, and scaled about the same from my relative perspective. I really look closely when i go to see the big releases, I can't pause it at the cinema which is really annoying when you have a home projector.
Mine is just a computer projector, not a cinema projector, cost less than a TV and Just amazing quality, it's unbelievable. It is fixed to the ceiling and projects straight onto a plain white painted wall. Proper screens make the whites whiter but they also make the near blacks lighter as well, you just don't need one I promise you.
I don't even have a TV so when we are not watching the projector it just disappears No black mirror. Just a wall :)

Well 38 GB later and It 4K77 may well be clearer but i still prefer the Silver Screen edition, the droids in the sand crawler scene is still so much better, so much more depth.
I'll post a comp pic showing the difference between the two.

I normally compress all my pics online but doing that here would be counter productive to the comparison so apologies for the big file.

Silver Screen edition top, 4K77 bottom.
Both here actually are represented in 1080p

4K77 is def clearer if you look closely but its over contrast makes the SSE still the winner.
The inside Sandcrawler scene is just amazing in the SSE, unbelievable depth.
I'm still going to watch it though :) for confirmation.

I think the point is they only have an argument to continue doing this for us all if no money changes hands, we should respect that as it's their call.
They are doing the work and could sell, but don't. The ebayers are the re-casters of this story, discuss...

Information on where to get files given on the site.
It's not hard to find just google 4K77 or if that is to hard here you go :)

I don't have a computer to download or a Blu Ray burner or means to make the case artwork. But I wanted nicely done physical copies of the Despecialized editions and the seller provided that. The transfer to Blu ray is flawless and all of the special features are provided with well done navigational menus. I look at it as buying the presentation work with the films thrown in for free.

I will be buying 4k77 as well.

You must do what you feel is right, of course.

The one on top - SSE - looks how I remember it from my childhood.
The one on the bottom looks completely alien to me. May as well be from a different movie.

I wish I still had the SSE... I DL'ed it onto a USB stick, then stupidly lost the stick after watching the movie ONCE.

The photo comparisons between the DNR and non-DNR versions show better color and contrast with DNR. I'm downloading the DNR 1080p now and should have it done in a few hours. I've also found 4K83 1080p and have that downloading as well.

This is interesting. Other than the color differences (SSE vs 4K77), the image is scaled on the 4K77 version. If you save the images and toggle back and forth, you can see it.

What's up with that, I wonder?

Yarp, Someone mentions that in the comments of the you tube comparisons and apparently they used a little image stabilization this time as the new print was a little wobbly and that's the trade off.
Those pics are another example of the extra contrast in the 4K77 and lesser depth, look at the detail lost from Hans chest Armour.
