What I wish Vader looked like in EP III

So was the armor, helmet and suit made specifically/custom for him? When i first seen it i thought palpatine walked into a hospital and found one in ani's size or somethin... Then again, those injuries probly dont occur that often. I woulda liked seeing the suit being assembled and the parts being connected to his body n stuff (besides jus the arms n legs)

Well, the helmet/mask must be custom because no one else had one. So it was made for some purpose and was scary as well. But made for who?

The arms and legs and breathing stuff could have been around because that seemed common.

And yeah, no one seemed to tell him that this is permanent. But maybe you shouldn't depress him too much.
Maybe the emperor made the suit to control Vader mentally as well.

I am loving the samurai look as well, man. Seriously, it looks awesome.

No matter what, though, people would complain about anything. I just accept the PT for what it is, and it isn't much. OT or nothing.

It's called a practical joke! You don't tell him and then watch as he tries to take off his mask. Then you get to see gasp for air and turn blue.

I'm pretty sure he knew. He was a burned and dying mess. You don't take the time to put someone like that in a Halloween costume just for the heck of it.

It is still odd that the Emperor just had that stuff laying around. Like he thought it would come in handy at some point :rolleyes

It was all done for dramatics... not realism. In reality he probably would have had a lengthy recovery before anyone even considered putting him in the suit.

As for people saying the suit should have been different than it was later... I'm shocked at comments in the RPF. We all know it WAS different.

I don't have a problem with how he was at the end of the movie, I just though this would look cool as Vader before the helmet.

Sorry I didn't mean to point at you, I'm just saying people often complain about the ROTS Vader like it was wearing a pink dress or something and not actual Darth Vader gear like it really is.

But yeah I know what you mean in this thread, I'd really like to see him "Sithed up" after he becomes evil, having a more Darth Vader looking gear and a red lightsaber. Just doesn't make sense to me that he's still wearing Jedi gear with a Jedi lightsaber when he's not a Jedi no more :confused

I always liked this one, and it is a costume I'd really like to have too if only it was featured in the movie.

I figured that with the advanced technology available, their version of CAD/CAM must be able to churn out something like that in no time.

Not that it does really matter (since we are talking Episodes 1-3, which is no Star Wars at all),

*but* what bothers me most is the decision to cast that petite Hayden guy to portrait the young Vader...

Samurai or full armor, short or long hair, lightsabre with blue or red glowing blade... whatever.

Look at this picture and tell me what is really wrong... (Seems to me size does indeed matter :cool)

Cheers,
Falk

Well since his arms and legs were cut off..his "bionic parts" coudl be any size. The bigger they are the more menacing he is.

I'd have LOVEd to see a McQuarrie version 1.0 of Vader. That would have been a VERY cool touch. I guess the fan's aren't smart enough to deduce that the outfit evolved over time tho.

I would have preferred the McQuarrie version from the Starkiller in hallway painting. The one both JRX and Darth Stone re-created in full scale. Always liked that look better and it feels more in tune with the later Vader mask than the one eFX chose and the one posted here.

In fact... the PT should have been FILLED with McQuarrie stuff - all the stuff that wasn't used in the OT.

I couldn't agree more. If the McQuarrie designs inspired the look of the OT..then it makes sense for his designs to have existed in the prequel times.
