What is this?

The little skull piece above the Star Wars logo is a little out of place. And come to think of it, the logo doesn't look all that professional to me. I have a slight feeling it isn't SW at all. The skull is what throws me off.

it does resemble (from memory) the data disk reader from the first jedi knight game on the pc.

i forget if it was hand held, or if it was the droids arm, but it had some stuff in there about the valley of the jedi.

least thats my best guess.

How do we know it's from Star wars for sure? Has anyone thought it might just be something from some sci-fi movie/story that was mounted on a star wars plaque? just check out the knock offs of other things on ebay. Then again, it could be something from one or more of the films but I dont' see a prop like that slipping by EVERYONE on the board. Doesn't make any sense-unless it's fan-made. Are there any markings on the actual piece?

Wait a minute...isn't that the cutting device that R2-D2 uses to cut Leia's chain that Jabba is holding her with?

nope......doesnt look like that at all, that was more simple in design,

id put my money on something not starwars at all, like was mentioned, whats with the skull on the plate? seems out of place, where did this guy get it? would maybe help narrow down the search.

It's an Imperial "Epilady" hair removal tool. Not for the faint of heart to use, judging by its looks....

:p

Yeah I question whether it is even from Star Wars but it is well made and I couldn't see producing something this complex without some kind of connection.

Plus I have a vague memory of seeing one on eBay before.

Hey Mike,

Can we see a pic of it mounted? Maybe that'll trigger some ideas.

Mike, I don't think you saw this cause you posted at the exact same time.

Can you mount it and show us a pic of it on the base?

I also have doubts that this is a Star Wars piece. It may very well be a movie prop, I just don't think it's a prop from Star Wars.

could be a company who made it for some other purpose, didnt sell so they added the starwars label in hopes of selling more,
thiers tons of knives and other items as detailed or more that have no connection to anything,

im still in the mind set its not starwars, and just someone trying to make a quick buck with the name...

yea, damn i forgot katarn was the jedi in the first game :lol

i think its that data disc thing as well.

its nifty looking, whatever the hell it is.

I don't know, it doesn't match Exactly:

its not 100%, but that looks different from the one that was in the game, and the one in the games cutscenes was officially a prop, not CGI. the first game had live action mixed with CGI.

i think if it had a little data disc in it, it would match up pretty much 1:1 with it.

if its NOT that, i have no idea.

didnt someone make a replica of that disc a few years ago?

chris

I also agree that it isn't 100% match. But it is the closest thing that I'm able to come up with. Looks to be a fan made piece... maybe this is an artisan's interpretation of the piece???

Much like hydin, I don't have any other clues to what else it could be.

My first thought when I saw it was 'Bicycle derailer'. Let's go with that. It's a Speeder Bike part. <G>

Seeing how much it cost you, how about $35?
