What is your favorite movie mistake?

I was watching Firefox with Clint Eastwood last night on bluray for the first time (prior to this I had only watched it on dvd or vhs).

The scene in the hanger where Gant first climbs into the cockpit and the Soviet officer asks for his identification---

(Thnaks to 1080p and a 60" tv) in the close up while Gant waves him off, the camera and a film crew member (in a white jacket) can be seen in the reflection of his helmet visor.

Never noticed that before. :)

I'm not really sure if this is a flub or an edit mistake or what, but watch the scene in Star Wars ANH during the scene where they are escaping from the Death Star. Right as Vader chops down Obi Wan. Luke screams "Noooo!" and starts shooting.

Right there you will notice that Vader begins to walk away from the fight going back down the hallway. He walks about 15 feet away from the action, then does a complete 180 turn and then begins to walk back towards the action!

This little walk/turn/walk gives Han just enough time to say "Blast the door, kid!" Luke blasts the door and it shuts just in time to cut Vader off! Had Vader not been indecisive he could have easily gotten through the door, as he and Obi wan were only a foot or two past it.

There's also the part in that scene where Luke sees them fighting. Just before he yells "No" they cut to the fight. Then cut back to him saying "No". You can see he just about to say it when it cuts away. I always notice that.

My mistake was letting my wife talk me into going to see Attack of the Clones 8 times in the theatre! I got lot's of rest though!

Yeah, I noticed that pronounced bang-bang too. It takes me out of the moment, so I just roll with it and say a couple of "yeehaw!"s out loud, pretending she is shooting up some Old West town. That and a few minutes later, during the TIE Fighter attack, the TIEs have airplane sounds.

Separate film, Passenger 57. I recall someone gets killed while the plane is on the tarmac and their body tossed out the forward boarding door. The lower half of the plane's fuselage is reflective, and you can see reflection of the body aka stunt person landing on the mat, plus I think some crew and set stuff. There's also another blooper in that film, a passenger is in a shot with blood makeup on a few seconds before he receives the injury that caused the blood.

A scene I HATED in SE version of ANH (and yes, I HATED the greedo shot scene edit, but this isn't it) was Ben Burtt's re-edit of the sound effects during the power trench gun battle. Originally, you hear the ground breaking laser blast sounds... so for the SE, what do they do? When Leia is firing the Stormtrooper gun, it sounds like a 22 pistol from a cop show. A cop show pistol going "bang" and not "zap" or "pew"? First time I heard it, I just shook my head as it took me OUT of one of the most iconic scenes in the film as it sounded too comedic. Its in the TV edits that normally get shown as well. Thankfully, it seems as though they purged that stupid bit for the DVD edits.

I can't remember the name of it, but it was an old school Chinese Kung Fu film where one of the guys got kicked in the face with a roundhouse kick, which sent his body spinning before it hit the ground, only problem was that his body was spinning the wrong way. I suppose that stunt guy only knew how to spin one way and the other guy could only kick one way. Hilarous.

its not a mistake but i love watching movies and hearing the wilhelm scream. for people who dont know what that is, its a certain mans scream that sound guys put in movies as a joke its in a ton of movies, indiana jones, paul, star wars, even mythbusters used it before.

There's a scene in Raiders where Indy is fighting the mechanic under the plane and Indy gets punched and spins the wrong way. I know he's hitting him hard, but come on! Stupid choreography!

Also in Fellowship of the Ring, one of the goblins gets shot with an arrow while they are on the collapsing stone stairway and he spins the wrong way.

Not sure if this has already been mentioned but i always found it so strange, and was glad the family guy parody brought it up. But in star wars ESB right at the end when lando is leaving to get han in the millenium falcon, hes actually wearing han's clothes. And not sure this one counts but earlier in ESB when lando, leah, chewie, R2 and whats left of 3PO are leaving the cloud city under fire towards the falcon, you can see the shell casings of blank rounds being ejected from the blaster lando is firing. like i said not sure if that counts as a mistake but hey

I'm not sure why people think the Han's clothes thing is a mistake. Why wouldn't Lando wear the clothes Han had on the ship? They are about the same size and I'm sure the Kohl's on the medical frigate was closed.

A mistake would be if Lando was wearing a 3P0 helmet or had a lightsaber on his belt.

If I go to my bother's summer house and put on his shirt when he's not there, it's not a mistake. It is just convenient and comfortable.

I love the shell casing thing- neat that you can see them ejecting from the guns from time to time.

But Lando had his fancy-ass clothing and the pimp-cloak with the gold lining! :lol
Unless he was putting on Han's clothes to try and seduce Leia... but that's weird.
Also... wasn't Han still wearing his own clothes? Alright he's frozen, but he's not nekid.

Han's not allowed to have a change of clothes on board? Lando's not allowed to change his clothes? Does anyone here only only one thing to wear?

one of my favorite movie mistakes in when neve camplbell screams out jamies name instead of his movie name randy when shes in the news van in scream

In the horrible 1998 Godzilla, a McGuffin involves a video tape shot by a news crew. At various points in the film, different props are used to represent this tape, including a 1/2" Beta SP, a 3/4" U-matic, and even a VHS.

Dunno if this was mentioned before, but my fave is in Top Gun. It was one of the very first movie mistakes I ever noticed as a kid.

It's when Slider (or Hollywood, can't remember who) carries Maverick after the battle. As he's hoisted up, he has no shades on. But when he's put down, his shades are now on.

I often play the Star Trek slots at Caesars in Windsor. During the bonus cut scene, you can see (Nichelle Nichols) smiling as she does a shake and tumble during a phaser hit on the Enterprise. It's from a TOS episode used by WMS to open the Klingon attack bonus in the first level.
