Recasting a Sci-Fi Icon; The Classic Star Trek Communicator

Any new word on this? I know a lot likely goes into coordinating a large production run of something like this. Just checking to see if there are any updates.

Hi guys-hope to be making an official announcement very soon.
In the meantime, here are some pix of the unit I built for the box-
art:)

Hoo, mama, that looks sharp!! :eek

Nice lookin' lawn in the background there, too. :)

Thanks for keeping us updated, John. Stunning work as always! :thumbsup

Very nice and that black and white shot is classic. My guess is that when teh P2 comes out it will be a black and white shot over a ruler like in TMOST. The pics really add to the sense of nostalgia.

Thanks guys!
I plan to include a moire sheet with several
different moire patterns to choose from. For
this unit (the one for the box art,) I chose to
do the "Making Of Star Trek" Comm as it was
for most of us the picture we wore-out as kids.
Perhaps more than even the "Spider Moire" Hero,
this Comm due to being the only one we really
got a good long look at,
is for many the
quintessential Communicator prop. Should make
for a really cool looking collector's box too:)

Thanks again for all the support, and hopefully
this will be available very soon.

Fantastic. Finally someone is making a Comm worthy of replacing my Wegman/Heilman Comm.

Thanks so much.

If you ever need somewhere to replace that Wegman comm to,:love shoot me a PM.

I am really looking forward to building up a few of these kits. It is funny how that black and white photo above has the same effect under the knobs (the reflection that almost looks like countersink) as the photo of the TMOST comm.

WOW. Someone that actually knows about them. Nice.

Just plan wow.

Will there still be an "after-market" kit to add the stopwatch?

Thanks guys. Ya know, this is the Communicator
of my dreams, and the idea of being able to make
it available to my fellow Communicator fanatics is
just about as cool as it gets. It's just the perfect
end, to a lifelong quest:)

I'll probably be able to include a set of
hero style moire graphics. The idea is
for the builder to be able to assemble
their favorite screen-used Communicator
with this kit:)

A comparison shot just for fun. box art comm left; The Making of Star Trek communicator right. Other than a slight difference in the photo angle it looks perfect. Will the vintage dust come with the kit?? :lol:lol:lol:lol
