Yep I'm pretty excited for this one. I've started working on the design, although I'm wondering how long until another trailer or some BTS pics will drop so I can get a little bit better look at some parts of the coat. I think I can figure most of it out but I'd sure like to be sure of details.

Well no, I guess we don't know that yet, not until we get a shot close enough to see the real texture. I'll look into both materials.

Joshspiderman23 and the folks at the film jacket forum were right, it's a fabric of some kind, not leather. Probably a waxed cotton. You can see the threads in this pic if you zoom in:
My guy can still do this, so the project is still alive once there are some better reference pics. And a leather version may still be an option if people want it.

If you make it out of waxed cotton (or any non-leather) would that bring the cost down?

Well if they're sticking with the proper Blade Runner aesthetic the jacket shouldn't be leather.
in the book and film we know leather to be outlawed. Of course production could say whatever to that and do their own thing.
