Limited Run GOTG - Star Lord's Boot Rockets - **NOW OPEN!**

Hey All,

IronManiac here with another collaboration project with 3d modeler and printer Daniel Nelms. You probably saw our thigh-mounted rocket buttons that attach to your pants with magnets. But what good are rocket buttons without rockets?! So we modeled our own.

We're all about accuracy, and after pouring over screen-shots and meticulously tweaking in 3D, I think we've modeled a super-accurate replica of the boot rockets Peter Quill wears. Our design uses small rods inserted around the body of the rocket to finish the look and give it real dimension.

We also wanted our rockets to be easy to assemble. If you've ever had to glue props together, it can be very difficult to get everything lined up before the glue sets. So we designed special pegs and sockets to help you align and attach the pieces after you've painted them. What you'll end up with is a super strong final product that looks great.

But we didn't stop there...you have to be able to attach these rockets to your leggings. Our solution: we have modeled a movie-accurate backer plate that attaches the rocket to your leg. Using a combination of a special locking mechanism and magnets, you'll be able to attach and remove the rockets from your legs with just a quarter turn, just like in the movie.

This backer plate is based off photos from the costume on display during the promotion of the film. It will house the locking mechanism and magnets to hold the rockets securely in place. We spent alot of time working out how to get these securely attached to your leg AND get that movie-accurate twist and lock.

We are currently 3D printing the master files and will be casting parts in resin.

Each boot rocket kit we ship will include:
• All the parts for (2) sets of boot rockets
• (2) Mounting plates
• Magnets to hold the rockets to the mounting plates
• Metal rods to complete the rocket body.

And just like with the rocket launch buttons, we will be offering both UNFINISHED kits and FINISHED sets. This will be a great addition if you already own a pair of our Launch Buttons!

To place an order, please PM me or Daniel Nelms for payment instructions. We will be mailing sets out as we receive full payments.

****PRICING****

Pricing for our boot rockets kit is $275 shipped.

If you would like to receive a painted and assembled rocket set, the additional cost for finishing is $225. A finished set is $500 shipped. These are highly detailed and have many parts, but if you paid for a finished set of our rocket launch buttons, you know the extra work that goes into them makes for an amazing final product.

The 2015 Con season is just around the corner, complete your costume now!!

Re: GOTG - Star Lord's Boot Rockets & Mounting Plates

Parts are on their way to IM for finishing (they should arrive today) so it's only a matter of time before we get some pictures up of the model.

Re: GOTG - Star Lord's Boot Rockets & Mounting Plates

Hey Everyone, here's a quick progress update. The parts for the rockets have been 3D printed by Daniel Nelms, and I've just finished sanding them and given them back to Daniel for molding and casting. If everything goes well we should have a final cast to show you very soon.

Here are a few pics from while I was working on them. you can see that the pieces have lots of great detail, and fit together nicely. the peg and hole system we designed to fit the pieces together works really well. You can also see the metal rods that are installed into the rocket body, they really give the piece some dimension and depth. Once these are all painted up, it's going to look fantastic.

Let us know if you're interested in a set!
