Re: quovadis' warmachine attempt.

thanks for the kind words guys. keeps me motivated. :)

i have been experiencing some minor delays,as i have been invited to re-appear as IronMan on our town anniversary. Hopefully it'll be a blast. :)

anyway ive gathered some blue-ray screenies and used it as a reference guide on the upcoming parts.

anyway i've started to rondo the inside.

is there any primitive yet easier way to smoothen the edges on the chin? I kinda have problems with that part.

so basically the WM helm has lots of corners, and i have problems regarding that. I don't have a dremel atm, so any help or suggestion will be gladly appreciated. Thanks! :)

sanding block and a popsicle stick with some sandpaper wraped around it for the harder to reach areas, start with one side of the corner make it perfect then go to the next side of it and do the same

Well done! Looks awesome!

You've inspired me to start this build.. the helmet that is. I will need to scale mine up I am sure. I have a huge melon.

Looking very good! all the corners look great to me, nice work

thanks! BTW i didn't scale the helmet. It fits me like a charm. There is still plenty of room inside for the hinges. I think my head is like 23.5". :)

Great work! Clean looking helmet.

less of an attempt as it is a success!!!!
Thanks man! It looks great on the pic but in reality it still needs 2-3 layers of primer and lots of sanding! :)

Looks great man!

and Jordan, i think you should do A FOAM WARMACHINE!:love
thanks dude. Yeah i'm waiting for Jordan's foam machine too! :lol

anyway i only have spare time to sand the helmet before going to school every morning after hitting the gym. So i don't have a lot of time on my hands right now but i'll try to update this thread regularly. Here are some updates. The first layer of primer sanded. :lol. I gotta find some better primer later after school.

BTW any suggestions for the color of WM? Don't have any idea yet besides undercoating composed of silver.

Re: quovadis' warmachine attempt.(update 01/18/11)

guys i need help..

1. What type of paint should i use as a primer for the helm? (red oxide, enamel, acrylic like those)

2. What colors should i use as the final coat?

3. Does anyone have any ideas for the hinges?

thanks for the replies. Hopefully someone could help me :(

Re: quovadis' warmachine attempt.(update 01/18/11)

Could we see some new pics of the current state of the helmet? I would like to see the back half also.

I am not pro when it comes to paint but I think sticking with Automotive Grade paint is always a good thing.

There was a thread with some great hinge ideas awhile back. Do some searching I think it may have been JayMay.
