Newb here with a question: You said in an earlier post Rondo,..was this a spelling error and was meant for Bondo. If not could you please explain. Going to try to make a Warmachine pep build for my son and doing all the research I can before I start.
TIA

ooooh great work man.
That's definitely THE best war machine helmet file to use as a base. Keep going!
yup it is rondo. It is a mixture of bondo and resin, not as strong as fiberglass mat but still does the trick as a base hardener. Here are some video tutorials from sir kagn.
hope that helps.
slmat pareng gaiatron! I'm pretty excited as well to finish this badass helm! :lolthis i wanna see finished pareng qouvadis!
i use 580>120>primer>1000(i don't know much about sanding papers just read the numbers on the back of em') ok sir i'll try that once all the pinholes has been covered thanks for the tip! but i have 1 big problem,i don't have an air compressor for painting so i use a brush.what grit sand paper are you using? 320 is the heaviest you should use right before primer..... as far as pinholes, the next time you put primer on, lay it on heavy to were its about to run and smear it with your finger..... sounds ridiculous but i'm speaking from experience, it works....
thanks again sir kagn, yeah i am having problems with edges. I'm thinking of cutting the mouth cover for now so the edge sanding will be easier, but then again it might make the helm a little less sturdier. Oh btw, regarding the vids you sent me,hope you don't mind if i share it with others to help. :sleepYes those are the best videos i found on the net to follow for rondoing instructions, and they were made from our very own Benstreeper here on the rpf, he has alot of easy to follow vids, Quovadis that helmet is just looking phenomenal, if you are having any problems with your edges you can always go back and add a lil bondo to them and sand it down to sharpen them up, Great work my friend!
ooooh! looking good!
You should show us a couple more pics of those lovely hinges :love
I used some wax coated playing cards, it stuck a little. But with a little elbow grease I got the face plate to separate.I've used binder clips in the past to hold all 3 pieces together of my Iron Man helmet.. but the resin always seems to seep into the cracks and sticks all 3 pieces together.
I've also tried to harden before with binder clips but once again it always seems to leak into tiny areas and thus melding all 3 into 1 piece. I really want to keep this in 3 pieces during the resin/hardening and rondo/sanding/primer stage as I want to mold and cast a 3 piece out of plastic.
What route did you take. P.S. I have pics of my old Iron Man helmet that I started, didn't finish and sold.

very nice quovadis, i love the video, did you use metal contacts to complete the circut to turn the eyes on when the helmet is closed or does the face plate push down on a button, either way great job
