As someone who has extremely limited experience in painting things, how easy is it to paint the head? Also, did you make the cloak/gown yourself?
 
I think painting is fairly easy. I usually use Krylon Pistachio for the base and them I use craft paints and do some washes over it. A little at a time so the paint doesn't end up drying before you wipe it off. The hardest part of the head is cutting out the eyes (if you choose this route) I painted the separate eyes and installed them. It just looks better that just painting the eyes on the head. I did make yoda's robe myself. Nothing expensive and it isn't made that great, but it looks the part.
