Looks awesome. Can't wait to get my hands on one. I believe it will be safe to OFFICIALLY put this one "to bed" after this kit comes out.
Would I be the first to note that the grill pattern looks SLIGHTLY different on Johns recreation??? I noticed it a bunch of posts back, but didn't have a chance to chime in. Will this be corrected in the final release??

As for these being castings, they are...kinda. That is to
say the tooling the replica shells were pulled, or "formed"
over were indeed castings taken from an original set of
screen-used shells. So, the new shells are not castings
of the outside of the real shells, but rather they were
vacuum-formed over a casting of the original bucks taken
directly from the inside of the real shells. The pictures in
the begining of this thread will probably explain it better
than I just did:lol

John... Will this kit require the same level of build-up as the phaser 1? For example, will the buyer have to solder the lid together?

Your Trek TOS P1 were worth every penny. I could tell it was quality from the parts to the packaging. I'd encourage anyone who hasn't gotten one to snap it up before the opportunity is gone. The P1 was an exact to the show replica. Nice to see the Comm coming along the same way.
