The PIONEER Yoda puppet in fandom that started it.

Re: my old Yoda silicone puppet

Yoda in plural I call "Yoden" in German

which would be like "Yodes" in English I guess...

:lol

Re: my old Yoda silicone puppet

Hello. I added some few photos that show how Yoda´s hand´s were worn. Maybe they can help you to create your own Yoda puppet.

These are some early urethan test pulls. They were all right for test purpose, but they worked as bad as latex casts would do.
Only silicone or FOAM latex pulls can be taken to make realistic moveable parts. The rest gives unreal wrinkles because it´s much to stiff.

Kind regards

Re: my old Yoda silicone puppet

this is a great thread..love the progress pics. I can't help but imagine from all the candid shots, but there is one thing that keeps popping in my head...
Pee-Wee's Big Adventure. When Pee-Wee gets out of bed and brushes his teeth, he uses a gigantic tooth brush and foam get all over his mouth. He snarls and says, "Mad Dog! Mad Dog!".
I could see your puppet doing that with all the cute little head bobs hehehe

:lol that´s nice. Very funny thoughts. Next time I play with him around I ask him to do that

Re: my old Yoda silicone puppet: LOTS OF TUTORALS- AND MAKING OF PICS

I made a "black theatre" photo session. Look:

Sorry for adding many photos, but I like to show some expression the puppet can make.

I´m planning to add subtle colour details to my paintjob in the silicone face.

I really feel like you've captured the essence of Yoda. Other people have done Yoda heads and they look good, but something about yours, even though it's not 100% accurate, still looks like it walked off the set. Good job!!!!

Thank you Steveo. I appreciate a lot.
My Yoda defines himself through his mechanical possibilities of all his movements. I´m working on some movies I will put online. That will show a lot better, how much he can do . When the head, was sculpted 2002, I only had the movies on Laserdisc and Video. No Internet production images or still frames. Sometimes I wished that I had better reference Photos. But after watching the "real" Yoda in the Léxpo exibition, I think I turned out very well - compaired to that. And Nick Maley who helped us answering technical questions, also liked my Yoda a lot, so I´m very very happy with the little green fellow I have to date. But I still keep my focus on having a cast of an original Yoda Head to move into a functional puppet.

Re: my Yoda silicone puppet: Photo session pics added on page 5

Wow- that is fantastic!!

Thank you Pauleysolo. I recognize you from your awesome thread about your ANH Costumes you did with your friends back in the 70s or 80s from your avatar. I realy really loved it. Especially because you have done true pioneer work for us Star Wars replica makers.

Here I mlike to show you another movie of my Yoda, some friends made with their photo camera.
My hand is not very well in Yodas hand, but never mind - here we go:

I will try to upload the real Videos from Con appearances and Fanfilms he was into.
As long as I can´t upload stuff from DVD I have to show you the "crappy stuff" like this.

Great video. Thanks for posting.

And I love your idea for displaying your helmets! Absolutely love it! Mine if I steal the idea for myself? Can you show some more of that and explain how you accomplished it?

Hi Steveo, thank you very much for your warm words!!! No, I don´t mind if you want to copy the way I display my helmets. Not at all. It´s great if I would have inspired you! I will post some threads in the future about my stuff. I promise! Kind regards, Jörg

Re: my Yoda silicone puppet: Photo session pics added on page 5

I managed to put a video of a friend´s photocamera online. See the first video of my Yoda puppet online:

This thing is truly amazing - too bad Master Replicas never put a Yoda puppet out for sale - I'm sure it would have been one of thier biggest sellers. Great work - now get started on a life-size Jabba!

Re: my Yoda silicone puppet: 2 Videos added on page 5

Thank you Darth Finger, Thank you GeneralFrosty. I´m so glad you like my old puppet. Well at least it´s not 900 years old. Otherwise it wouldn´t look good.

Well to be honest I really thought about making a stop motion silicone puppet of Jabba the Hutt back in 1994, but finally cancelled the project.
Yeah, you´re right: a fully functional life-size Jabba would be cool :thumbsup But on the opposite it takes damn much space.
So if it comes to something big, I finally would decide give my lifesize Emperor sitting in his chair project a go. I always dreamed about it but cancel it, because of the space it needs.

Re: my Yoda silicone puppet: 2 Videos added on page 5

Old or not that is still awesome. That is like the real deal. Are you working on any other projects?

Re: my Yoda silicone puppet: 2 Videos added on page 5

Love it.:thumbsup I also love all of the busts and helmets.

Thank you very much park vader!!! I love your avatar - it´s great!!!

Thank you very Darth Finger. I appreciate a lot!
I´m working on business sculpts for amusement parks and walking acts to date.
My only Star Wars projects I have these days are my two ls Chewies.
The following project will be my R2 D2.
