This is all I could get out of the screen caps, there should be a couple more paragraphs on the letter, the name of the place in Vietnam (in asterisks) is a little too blurry to get properly thought it might have said Camp1 but it looked wrong.

I was just going to post that! I just purchased the original Newsweek issue: January Jan 29 1968.

I also did a layout in Quark of the inside, using the newly found correct helicopter photo. It's not 100 percent, but it's damn close. Here it is.

I found some nice thin semi-gloss photo paper from Kelly Paper. It should match the magazine stock nicely and it came in 11x 17 size. It may need slight resizing for the actual size of the issue.

Brilliant job.
I thought the magazine was a LIFE mag:facepalm, so i got 5 vintage Vietnam war issues off ebay, still waiting for them, and was going to try and cut and paste something out of them to make that article, very glad i dont have to now. If another original pic turns up from the mags, it will be worth it.

EDIT... Had to get that Newsweek as you already had it.

Here's a Jpeg of the master envelope.

it's a 10"x15" side opening Document envelope
Made by Quality Park Products
Item number 54301

They come in boxes of 100.

Here's some fun little non-canon pieces. I reconstructed a page from the actual 1947 West Point yearbook with Kurtz' entry in it. Also used some of the other photos from his file.

I also recreated a period correct
Marriage License
Birth Certificate
and
Harvard Transcript
Enjoy!

don't want to be super picky coz I maybe wrong but I thought Kurtz was in the class of 46.

Something I forgot to ask was Kurtz's middle name mentioned in any of the paperwork from the original dossier or is it always just E.?

done the page from the 46 howitzer as a photo stat, unlikely that he'd have had the torn out page, cheers for the info on the name.

p.s. is the typo on the envelope master in post 86 intentional just asked coz there are loads in the movie.

Have come up dry on the Vietnamese newspapers, seems from the guy in Vietnam that even today its not cool to have the War newspapers around so to speak. Tried the two local Vietnamese newspapers for a lead but no luck again. Might look into a Cambodian option.

On the VN newspapers, have you checked with library of congress archives? My father got a copy of a Rome newspaper from the 50's by sending a request through the L.O.C. it took about 2 months, but he did get a photocopy of the front page and the page where the story he was interested in continued. It cost him I think 20 dollars, but this was back in the mid to late 70's.

Thats a great tip, thanks very much.
Im an Aussie but i might play the old "Dont we fight wars together " card.

Have a soft spot for this particular part of the Dossier and with stromo weaving his magic on a entirely rebuilt picture of the kids and some of my freehand, put this together. Used two different types of tape to get a good effect and i think it came out great, theres a scan so all you have to do is add your own tape if you want one.

EDIT : Have replaced scan with the one with the proper dimensions, print on A4 then trim sides to get the original width.

That printed out really well, Mr Webber. Excellent work on copying the hand-written note, btw.

Cheers mate, just scribble without the super pic and stripes, with them, one of my favorite replicas.
