The DeLorean.
Not only it's recognizable by generations of people and an all around cool car, but it's central to the plot of its movie like no other car before or after. Try to imagine a car that could fit such a specific role while checking so many boxes at the same time:
- Had to look modern and high end for the time when the movie was made.
- Had to be a fast sports car to fit the fictional mechanics of the time travel jump.
- Had to look weird enough to be mistaken with a UFO by a 1950s person.
- Had to look good as a flying vehicle without altering its original design that much.
- And by mere chance, the damn thing even ended up becoming closely associated with the 1980s because of what happened to the DeLorean Company, ultimately fitting into the whole intended iconography of the Back to the Future films perfectly.
So, there.
