My sentiments exactly. It was the most fun DC movie that I've seen, much different in tone than any of the others (the only DC film I haven't seen is Aquaman). I'm normally more critical, but I just enjoyed this one. Maybe the most "Marvel" of the DC films (no pun intended). I thought the first half hour was a bit slow, but I never got bored after that. Maybe it's no coincidence that those first 30 minutes didn't have Zachary Levi in it either. I think he was a great choice. He's not the first actor I would have thought of for the role, but I understand why he was cast after seeing the movie.I enjoyed it. It was fun.
The criticsm about the demons not fitting into the movie, that didn't bother me either. It really reminded me more of Ghostbusters in that regard. The ghosts and Zuul and all that were pretty dark and kind of scary compared to the rest of that film, yet everyone will admit Ghostbusters is a comedy. I think the switch in tone between the demons and the kids and Shazam worked in the same way.
